The Ondo State Police Command on Wednesday confirmed the death of five persons in a road accident along the Ijoka area of Akure, Ondo State.

gathered that the victims, a couple and their three children, were returning to their house after the day’s work when tragedy struck.

An eyewitness said the accident occurred around 9pm, adding that the driver was under the influence of alcohol. The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, said the command had commenced investigation into the crash.
