McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski has big concerns about surging crime in Chicago, where the fast food giant is based, saying it is impacting the company’s restaurants and making it harder to recruit corporate talent. Crime is “seeping into every corner of our city,” Kempczinski said during an event at the Economic Club of Chicago Wednesday.
Starbucks employees are “seeing firsthand the challenges facing our communities,” Debbie Stroud and Denise Nelsen, senior vice presidents of US operations at Starbucks, wrote in an open letter to employees in July. “With stores in thousands of communities across the country, we know these challenges can, at times, play out within our stores too. Kempczinski highlighted another challenge as well.
I didn't know they're corporate office was in O block
Move your head quarters.
This is such bullshit. Per capita Chicago has less crime than many other cities in the US. If you really want to impact crime in your area call on your representatives to pass stricter gun laws. And throw the book at individuals that bring guns in from out of state.
I was raised in Chicago during the Richard Daley years and I currently do not recognize my beloved city. Mayor Lightfoot is destroying the city with her poor policies (e.g. poor education sys, high crime, businesses and people leaving, high taxes). What are residents paying for?
So Mr CEO, what’s your plan to help reduce crime in Chicago ?
You are involved in crime in restaurants. In Arbaeen, all kinds of food are given to others without conflict and for free.
They are big mad the people the poison are not doing what they want.

Just wait till the purge law kicks in on January 1st.
The cost of doing business in crime areas. This is free market economy, move on.
Not crime impacting your company but very poor quality of products and services
Selling cancer to a billion plus people should be a crime but it's not. 🤔
Maybe tey can close all their stores
The only thing I’m concerned about is the surging sh!t coming out my ass because of McDonalds right now!
I think it’s time McDonalds started a test run on McDinners, which would be several home style meals (meat loaf, mashed potatoes, small salad) served only Monday through Thursday at dinner time. With an apple pie for dessert.
Better move to Texas or Florida then, you won't be the first to make this sensible move.
What Chicago, New York, LA...etc need to be encouraging everyone that is able to get a gun and some training to carry concealed. Put these dirtbags on the defensive. When criminals take the room temperature challenge they will think twice before commiting crimes against people.
جھوٹ اور سچ میں ملاوٹ نہ کرو
The owner of McDonald's literally stole the business plan AND of one of the dude's names and some over paid suit is concerned abt crime ? That's a laugh. Or is it not the right type crime corporate's in search of? Ha!
It’s almost like the Dem policies, rioting, soft-on-crime DAs and Defund the Police movements were bad for the city. Hmm🤔. Weird At least having hyper strict gun laws will keep criminals unarmed, right?😂 JK! Dems destroy everything 😉
McDonalds is not based in Chicago
Making it all too easy... Maybe if people thought about the surge in prices just to be able to catch your breath in this economy? The rich are tearing this country to shreds to make money they couldn't spend in 20 life times. The treating the people like dirt and talk is over.
Vote blue no matter who.
KensNation They could always move to Texas 🙄
Pay a living wage?
Shut them down, shouldn't have to operate in a dangerous city like Chicago
1. Chicago isn't in the top 25 for crime per capita in the USA. 2. His portrayal of a Chicago sounds like a Faux News propaganda talking point. 3. He says Starbucks had to close 16 stores nationwide because of high crime rate in cities. There are 15,440 Starbucks in this country
It's good that he cares about crime, but his reasons are so bads!!
Move your head office
Thank you for sharing this CNN, please get back to the old CNN in the 90’s, balanced.
🤣😂😅😆
McDonald’s headquarters is 20 miles away from Chicago in Oakbrook.
Keep voting democrat and watch all businesses leave. Crime and drugs will be operating 24/7.
What's going on in Chicago is a right leaning talking point. Statistics have proven year after year that Chicago isn't even in the top ten of most violent cities.
WELCOME TO SOCIALISM McDonalds
Liberals want no police inconveniencing them (but demand safe cities), think businesses are all greedy (but religiously want higher wages, great bargains, and high yield investment, the dot isn't connecting for these 'smart' voters). Let socialism feed them. Just move to Texas.
Maybe they need to consider remote hiring cuz every big city has a lot of crime. Post-pandemic Seattle is like an episode of the walking dead and SVU did a holiday special crossover. Ironically the worst area for crime is at the corner where a McDonald’s is.
Illinois is giving criminals a free pass soon, so they’re just getting a head start
I wish these Tucker Carlson-watching business “leaders” would actually propose real ideas instead of using their high-profile roles to complain and fear monger. Chicago isn’t even in the top 25 most violent cities on a per capita basis!
No shit?
Maybe McDonald's could help cut crime by not paying poverty wages and help people get out of poverty which would likely reduce crime.
The FBI will be giving that CEO a visit
He is a fraud
Concerns about the people McDonalds poisons every day with their food…
well... when you Suppprt & Report on Defunding The MENINBLUE POLICE PROTECTORS What do you expect to Happen..? BackFire Democrats BLM CNN
Shut them down problem solved
