The developer has submitted an application to the city for a change to Buckeye's general plan, which guides the city's growth, and to rezone the site from residential to light industrial. Buckeye's planning commission is scheduled to vote on a recommendation for the project on Tuesday. Project documents say the Atlas facility's service and storage areas will be oriented inward and fully screened from adjacent streets since the development is located within a quarter-mile of a planned residential subdivision. The architect is listed as Phoenix-based Cawley Architects and the engineer is Scottsdale-based Sustainability Engineering Group.
