The space at 200 Third St. includes 4,500 square feet and cost an estimated $1.2 million with features that include 160 available seats and expanded patio space. A longer bar welcomes patrons to the eatery, and a private conference room is available for reserve.
DeLeon said when he purchased Grumpy’s in 2015, annual sales were around $700,000. Now, annual sales goals for all locations are $3 million. And while inflation and supply chain issues could have affected construction deadlines, the company was proactive. “The Neptune Beach store had gone through several owners, and you never know what you’re going to get when you open a wall,” DeLeon said. “To get to the bones and structure, it was easier to completely scrape it and just start over with a full renovation. We bought new furniture, lighting, everything. And we accomplished everything we wanted to.”
