Crumbl Cookies, which started in Logan, is facing nearly $58,000 in fines, after federal investigators say they found several of its franchises were violating child labor laws.

The heated battle full of sugar and spice has included Crumbl’s CEO, Jason McGowan, from Crumbl’s database through an ex-employee. Dirty Dough has denied the allegations and started an ad campaign with billboards declaring: “Cookies so good we’re being sued!”

The U.S. Department of Labor reported finding violations at 11 Crumbl franchises across six states. Among those, 46 teen workers were affected. The other violations were reported at three franchises in California, one in Minnesota, one in New Hampshire, one in Tennessee and one in Washington. The Bountiful, Utah, and San Ramon, California, locations each had the highest number of minors affected, with nine at both stores.

Crumbl, according to investigators, primarily had children working too many hours. Federal law states that 14- and 15-year-olds cannot work more than eight hours a day or more than 40 hours in a workweek — whether school is in session or not.

They were Keebler elves moonlighting!

The fines aren’t enough

LDS owners?

I worked at 14 and in during the summers. It was a great experience. Todays kids could really benefit from a little hard work.

The kids should just 'identify' as 18 year Olds so they can work! This works for gender, so it should work for age too!

I worked a job at 14 and I was really glad to. My boss protected me from getting beat up by bullies. I did work full time in the summer, but the money I made from it was worth it.

That’s the way the cookie Crumbls

Sounds like a lot of Mormons are upset their favorite sugar pub is getting heat

It's a mormon company Of course they're violating laws. Just like the geriatrics downtown.

Based on these replies and the comment section ima estimate we just gonna say fuck it and start throwing children back into the mines by 2025.

Oh how the cookie crumbles

LMAO

They're getting close to opening a store in PA! York area, I believe.

Like dude we keep going on how kids need to pay their way and get a head start, we should honestly just scrap labor laws and go back to the 1800s where you could exploit babies for not doing their part. Geez. How much do ya ll just wanna live in the dark ages

How I see it, everyone needs a head start on money, especially with all this inflation.

lol

Is Crumbl owned by polygamists? Are the Kingstons involved or some other group?

So why is the larger corporation responsible for the actions of a franchise? A franchise is just a restaurant selling Crumble brand food.

I worked at 15 at an ice cream shop. Stupid law. Stupid fine. Stupid country.

The only people who need to agree whether a child should work: 1. The child 2. The parents 3. The employer

_PO2345 Their cookies are trash

First thing i noticed when I moved here. Every fast food type place is run by 15 year old kids

Great. That's why my child lost his job? BS!

Can't the Feds tell an elf from a child?🤶
