A GROUP, Pan African Women Project, has urged market women in Imo State to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), and to actively participate in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

This, the group said, would enable them elect credible leaders of their choice during the polls, who would offer good governance and effective leadership for the good of the people, as well as guarantee bright future for their children. The gender-based group, led by Dr. Eno Udensi, which made the call during its sensitisation campaign on PVC collection to World Bank Market, Owerri, yesterday, stated that women should see reasons to play active roles in determining who occupy elective positions in the country.

According to the international organisation, women and youths constitute larger percentage of Nigeria’s electorate, and should be encouraged not to shy away from ensuring their votes count in the 2023 general elections.
