JOHANNESBURG - Power cuts could have an impact on food security in South Africa.He says the blackouts have made it difficult for Astral Foods, South Africa's largest poultry producer, to meet the demand for chicken at fast-food establishments.

In addition, the blackouts led to a direct loss of R126 million in the fiscal year that ended in September 2022.
