“I’m totally stoked,” Schlott said. “I’ve been playing around with pizza for decades to get it nailed down.”
“I had no idea what it was other than it was just a square pizza that I thought was pretty cool,” Schlott said. “After that, I started doing homework. For the past eight years, I’ve been putzing around making Detroit style. Located in a former 1,300-square-foot pizza shop, Gray House Pizza offers a simple menu featuring toppings including pepperoni, hot sausage, green peppers, roasted red peppers, onions, black olives, green olives, mushrooms, jalapeños, banana peppers and pineapple.Schlott said the idea of opening his first pizza business in Lakewood was a no-brainer.
Not only is he opening an additional Gray House Pies location at 18103 Detroit Ave., but also is adding side business U.K. Pies & Fries behind Gray House Pizza.

Opening a homemade pizza shop across from Donato’s is pretty badass. Years ago he used to sell dessert pies at Breadsmith next door, more recently they were available at Sweet Moses. Look forward to trying it out!
