YOUR MONEY: Saving for a flat — should I be in the equity market?

I am saving for a downpayment on a flat. I will need the money no sooner than 12 months from now. Since July 2022 I have been depositing a monthly amount in a global balanced fund . I am willing to take on more risk than a typical money market product carries.

With the market downturn over the past year, I am thinking of depositing my monthly amount in a global equity exchange traded fund . Would that be wise? What other options would you recommend?
