The state’s ambitions are in line with the Twelfth Malaysia Plan, in which boosting the halal industry to capture a more significant share of the global halal market is one of the country’s key economic growth strategies.
The largest component of the halal economy in Malaysia is the food service sector, with business revenue in the sector estimated at RM128.8 billion in 2021, and forecast to reach RM201.02 billion by 2025.
