Recent strong winds have caused the longest delay in years at the Cape Town harbour, leaving exports such as fruit stuck for more than four days and forcing desperate exporters to rush to alternative ports.

Days of strong winds in mid-February forced the Cape Town cargo terminal to halt operations. It could only restart on Sunday, 19 February, after 4.5 days.
