DALLAS — Dallas ranks No. 1 as the best sports business city in the United States, according to a study conducted byThe study finds that the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including surrounding suburbs and large cities like Arlington and Frisco, continues to spur daily growth in the sports business industry. Adding on the comparatively lower cost of living and world-class venues it has to offer, Dallas takes the cake in this report.
Sports Business Journal produced a list of the 50 best sports business cities, looking at nearly 400 different markets that are home to at least one professional or Division I college athletic program, or a permanent event. Comparing quality and speaking with industry resources rather than solely basing the study on numbers, other cities that fall behind Dallas on the list are New York, Charlotte and Minneapolis. As size does not matter in determining the best sports business city, the study looked at the “friendliness” of markets, “destination locations for corporate events” and “quality of life.”
