As a sub-contractor tradesman working on an FMG site, he failed a random drug test and was sent home for five weeks despite presenting a legal prescription.

Noone who is mentally impaired by any substance, should be operating machinery. This also applies to driving on the road. If their is a Statutory drug test level applied in employment agreements and for a licence, so be it. No argument. We don't want them on the road with us.

It’s a legal prescription to use it, not to work while under the influence. If he needs medical cannabis to survive, maybe he should find a different occupation.
