China’s first free-trade agreement with an African country will help Mauritius to accelerate its post-Covid 19 economic recovery, finance minister Renganaden Padayachy tells The Africa Report. The agreement was signed in October 2019 and came into force in January 2021. It gives Mauritian exporters duty-free access to the Chinese market on 7,500 tariff lines. In services, the countries agreed to remove restrictions in more than 100 sectors including financial services, telecommunications and health.Also receive offers from The Africa Report
