The Philippine distributor of BYD vehicles has switched into high gear now with a complete lineup of electric cars. At the recently held Manila International Auto Show , Solar Transport and Automotive Resources Corp., the company reintroduced the Dolphin and Tang, and launched the Han.
Completely clearing out its inventory of ICE vehicles in the Philippines in late 2022 also marked BYD Philippines’ transition to introducing its full EV lineup. In Africa, the South and Central American countries, and parts of the Middle East, the company still has a few units to be sold. With its focus on full battery electrification, BYD is expecting a net profit of about 17B Yuan versus 3B in 2021.
“With these leading technologies and innovations, BYD’s EVs have a longer range, making them a more practical option not only for city driving but also for longer trips. They have a longer lifespan and can be charged conveniently at home or on the go,” said Tieng. He added, “the growing network of charging stations in the Philippines, which is currently pegged at 400, an EV will definitely be functional for day-to-day driving and practical to own in the long run.
The BYD Dolphin EV has advanced safety features, such as front, side, and curtain airbags, Electronic Stability Program, and 360-degree Panoramic Cameras. Smart technology in the vehicle includes Electric Rotary Touchscreen Infotainment System, Bluetooth Connectivity, and Smartphone Integration., the latest version of BYD’s electrified seven-seater mid-size SUV,” said Tieng.
