The FDA has received adverse event reports from people using compounded semaglutide, which might not contain the same version of the popular obesity drug.

Semaglutide is a synthetic and longer-lasting version of glucagon-like peptide 1 developed by the company Novo Nordisk. GLP-1 and similar hormones help regulate our hunger and metabolism, often by affecting the release of other hormones such as insulin.
