It has also recommended a rethink of the R350 social grant, arguing that the amount is arbitrary and does not reflect the cost of living. The FFC makes its recommendations on fiscal policy nine months ahead of the budget based on extensive research. The recommendations it announced on Thursday are for the 2024/25 budget.
