Russian missile strikes eastern Ukraine market, killing 17, in one of the worst attacks in months

Ukrainian officials said 32 others were wounded in the attack on Kostiantynivka. “Russian troops are terrorists who will not be forgiven and will not be left in peace,” Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal wrote on Telegram. “There will be a just retribution for everything.” Russian missile attacks regularly hit civilian areas but tolls this high are unusual.

” The strike was launched just hours after US Secretary of State Antony Blinken landed in Kyiv in his third visit to Ukraine since Russia launched its full-scale invasion. Blinken is scheduled to meet with Zelensky during his trip, from whom he is expecting a firsthand report of Ukrainian efforts to regain land around Bakhmut, which lies to the east of Kostiantynivka.
