August's Consumer Price Index is due at 8:30 a.m. ETStock futures edged lower ahead of the August consumer-price index report, due at 8:30 a.m. ET. The release is one of the last major data points expected before the Federal Reserve's next meeting.
Economists polled by The Wall Street Journal forecast that the CPI rose 0.6% from July and 3.6% from a year earlier.
