The proposed controversial merger between Ospreys and Scarlets, two of Wales’ most successful sides since regional rugby’s inception in 2003, is off

In a statement on their website posted on Wednesday, Scarlets detailed the timeline which led to the latest announcement and stated: “Firstly, we can confirm the statement issued by the Professional Rugby Board on Tuesday afternoon as accurate, as are the comments made by Wales’ national coach that the proposed merger was driven by the regions, in consultation with the PRB.

The interesting thing re: statement is how the O’s are finding it difficult to remain as tenants at Liberty. Could they move? St Helens? Knoll? N Wales?!
