From new launch vehicles to space debris collection technologies, here are some of the most promising space startups currently operating in Europe.

The company described the first launch of Miura 1 as "the launch of the first private European rocket." It also enables "validation of nearly 70 percent of the design and technology set to be incorporated into MIURA 5," PLD Space's orbital rocket, which is set to fly from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana by 2025.

Skyrora arguably beat PLD Space to become the first private company to launch a rocket last year, when its Skylark L lifted off from Iceland in October 2022. The Exploration Company designed Nyx to carry cargo and eventually astronauts to the International Space Station as well as to the Moon.French firm Latitude recently announced that it aims to start launching its Zephyr rocket from SaxaVord in Scotland by 2024.
