Civil society organisations are dragging the Gauteng Health Department to court over its alleged failure to spend over R700 million set aside for cancer patients.
Section 27 accuses Gauteng Health of only spending R250 million to procure planning services to outsource radiation and oncology services. Meanwhile, the Democratic Alliance in the province has stated support of the pending court case. The party has cited that the court application evokes memories of the life Esidimeni’s negligence.
