There are some threats to the market most investors aren't thinking about. Stocks were down during midday trading Wednesday , with the S & P 500 struggling to build on its comeback rally from the violent rout that started this month. On Monday, the broader index posted its eighth straight winning session — a streak it hasn't accomplished since November.
"We wouldn't be surprised if there was no cut at all ," Mulberry said, adding, "I think in terms of the soft landing that the Fed has been trying to achieve, we're still very much on that glide path, it's just going to take a little bit longer, maybe a quarter or a quarter-and-a-half longer than the market is currently expecting.
