Former Aberdeen CEO Keith Wyness believes potential investment from Tony Bloom at Hearts could lead to a more competitive Scottish Premiership, benefiting clubs in Europe and attracting more TV money.

Aberdeen’s former chief Keith Wyness has insisted Celtic should be pleased – not threatened – by potential investment from Tony Bloom at Hearts., the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Aberdeen between 2000 and 2004, had lengthy spells as the chief of Everton and Aston Villa and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – insisted the takeover move could birth a “very competitive league” which will have benefits in Europe and with TV money.

The businessman, who is planning to bring his Starlizard sport analysis company in at Tynecastle, will become a minority stakeholder at the Edinburgh club if successful. Hibernian have also had recent investment from Bournemouth owner Bill Foley, who has taken a 25% stake at Easter Road.“All of a sudden, we could have a really competitive Scottish league with six, seven or even eight sides with the right support.
