A string of positive bank earnings saw Wall Street log a series of record highs last week. But this momentum was sapped by mixed signals on demand from chipmaking bellwethers ASML (AS: Republican nominee Donald Trump was seen gaining improved odds against Vice President Kamala Harris, recent polls showed, with about two weeks left to the ballot. But analysts still saw the race as too close to call.
