Lorna Leblanc, Director of Financial Administration and Compliance at CTS College, highlights various alternatives available to students beyond OSAP, including self-pay, Better Jobs Ontario, band funding, and RESPs.

For post-secondary students, navigating the financial landscape of higher education can sometimes feel overwhelming.

“We always talk through all of the options first. There’s self-pay, Better Jobs Ontario through EI, band funding, WSIB insurance funding — even RESPs.” "Through no fault of her own, she was out of a job, and in danger of defaulting on OSAP loans, and couldn’t afford to continue with us,” Leblanc said.

While OSAP is a well-known option for students, Leblanc highlighted that CTS works with students receiving funding from various provincial and private sources across Canada. “But guaranteed that there's probably something out there. Ninety-nine per cent of the time there is.”Begin the Process
