Alessandra Alarcon is the first woman to lead SBS Entertainment and shares what she's learned thus far in her career.

Before becoming the President of Spanish Broadcasting System’s Entertainment arm, Alessandra Alarcon was like most college graduates — searching for a career that would keep her intrigued and challenge her growth.

Since starting her career as a Sales Associate at SBS Entertainment in 2014, Alarcon has earned her team’s trust, chalked up more than a few wins, and become the company’s first woman to lead SBS Entertainment. Now Alarcon works to ensure that her team feels empowered to take the risks, or make the decisions, that could lead to as pivotal of career moments for themselves or the company.

Most importantly, the Latina community needs to find allies not only in other women working but also in their male colleagues in this space. The reality is that we need and expect our male counterparts to welcome collaboration and encourage the talent we bring to the table. Alarcon:
