Market forces determine cooking oil prices, not govt, says minister

Bottled cooking oil is sold at market price without any subsidy and its price is based on the floating mechanism, says Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Alexander Nanta Linggi. – AFP pic, April 25, 2021.

PUTRAJAYA does not control or set retail prices of bottled cooking oil, said Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Alexander Nanta Linggi. In a statement, he said bottled cooking oil was sold at market price without any subsidy and its price was based on the floating mechanism.
