The search is on for a criminal gang that has set up social media accounts to sell fake EU Digital Covid Certificates amid Ireland’s reopening.
There are hundreds of thousands that remain unvaccinated in Ireland and so one group - thought to be based in Dublin - is using Instagram to market the fake proof of vaccination and recovery so they can avail of indoor services. The same issue raised its head back in July when people were caught using similar documents to gain entry to indoor hospitality.
