The World Coal Association says clean coal technologies have to form part of a just energy transition.

You can't wish coal away, so you will have to clean it. This was essentially the message delivered by July Ndlovu, the CEO of Thungela Resources, who spoke in his capacity at chair of the World Coal Association at the Southern African Coal Conference this week.

The World Coal Association and its member companies are in favour of a just transition to net zero future, Ndlovu said."We are real people with families and communities, and we also want the best for the future of our planet, people and economies." However, he said coal must form part of the climate change solution."Why?
