Goldman Sachs and UBS have pulled the brakes on pallet pooling business Loscam ANZ’s auction, citing market volatility to potential suitors.

Loscam ANZ’s pitch said it had better EBITDA margins and a superior cost structure to rival Brambles.On Friday, sell-side advisers told suitors Loscam ANZ’s business was ticking along nicely, but its owners had hit pause on the sale while the market volatility persisted. Indicative bids were due last week.

The sale flyers put Loscam ANZ at $170 million revenue and $90 million EBITDA for the 2021 calendar year, generated via its 7 million-plus pallet pool. Suitors were told the division had grown revenue at 9 per cent a year in the three years to December 31, and had 34 per cent of the Australian market. Brambles’ CHEP had the other 66 per cent.

Loscam ANZ is understood to have been looked at by private equity funds and infrastructure types. Two that took an early look included
