JWB Real Estate Capital is asking the city to allow it to deviate slightly from city regulations in the building of its Cathedral Commons apartment complex, saying the changes will allow for a more urban development.
The request for deviations will be considered by the Downtown Development Review Board at its Thursday meeting. If the request is granted, the buildings would also be raised an average of two feet from the sidewalk rather than the required three feet. This would enable the project to use gradual sidewalk slopes rather than visible ramps but still meet Fair Housing Act accessibility requirements.
