BS from Golden Gate University; executive leadership programs at the Wharton School and Harvard UniversityIn June 2020, I was asked to lead IT at Kaiser Permanente amid intense industry disruption and a national Covid-19 crisis response. I led efforts to ensure mission-critical systems were reliable, secure, and could scale to meet the accelerating shift to a digital-first, work-from-home, virtual-care environment.I began my career in technology as a data-entry clerk.

I was lucky enough to have a boss who took the time, and had the patience, to mentor me. Very early in my career, I understood the value of inspiring others and developed an appreciation that people learn and are motivated in different ways. Sheryl Sandberg said, “Motivation comes from working on things we care about. It also comes from working with people we care about.
