The city of Goodyear has named a new deputy city manager.
Granger has more than 20 years of experience working in local government, with the last five years spent working as the deputy city manager in Peoria. In that role, he managed several departments including police, fire, finance, budget, human resources, public works, utilities, development and engineering, planning and community development, information technology, city clerk, internal audit and sustainability.
Granger holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Massachusetts, an MBA from Arizona State University and is a registered civil engineer. Prior to joining public service, he worked as an engineer in the private sector.city manager of BuckeyePaul Luizzi, has been serving as interim deputy city manager, according to the city of Goodyear’s website. Luizzi has served as the city’s fire chief since 2013.
On Sept. 1, Goodyear announced that economic development director Lori Gary had resigned from her position with the municipality. She had been in the role since 2018. after being placed on administrative leave amid allegations of bullying and negligence of job duties.
