Starmer is positioning Reeves as his election running mate in a bid to project Labour as the party of economic responsibility 👉 The shadow Chancellor’s rise prompts claims that Angela Rayner is being sidelined 🔴 RichardVaughan1

The shadow Chancellor has been increasingly moved into the limelight by Labour strategists as the party seeks to strengthen its claim to be the party of fiscal responsibility, with party officials eager for the public to “get to know” her more.

Her perceived credibility has increasingly led to her appearing alongside Sir Keir for major speeches and events, with the pair reportedly planning to visit Davos to schmooze business leaders in the Swiss Alps. Her rise to become the Labour leader’s right-hand woman prompted one shadow minister to joke: “I think Rachel and Keir have been superglued together.”

But inevitably, the move to promote Ms Reeves more in the public eye has prompted claims from allies of Ms Rayner that the deputy Labour leader has been “sidelined”.

RichardVaughan1 I'd be as likely to vote for Labour as vote for Klaus. Same goes for Tory or Liberals. Those parties are dead in the warer
