Cultural Council gives local muralist an opportunity to shine

The appreciation for public art in Jacksonville has grown over the years, and the call for more brilliant hues painted on sides of buildings continues. San Marco will unveil a new mural today that reinforces the neighborhood’s identity while also brightening the pedestrian and driver experience.

Randall’s newest mural is located at the intersection of San Marco Boulevard and Nira Street and will be dedicated at noon at Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center, located at 1301 Palm Avenue near the new public art. Randall said she responded to the Cultural Council’s call for artists in 2019 and was subsequently approved for the project. Her untitled mural design is a 47 ’x 48’ mammoth artwork projected to remain for three years subject to traffic volume. She was paid close to $8,000 for her work.
