Deputy Finance Minister I Datuk Seri Ahmad bin Maslan is well-known for his witty personality and the tendency to randomly whip out a pantun or Bahasa Melayu poem in his speeches.

For Merdeka Day today, both Deputy Ministers decided to have a bit of fun and made a “pantun battle” video celebrating our country’s 66th Independence anniversary. As for the pantun battle, many Malaysians were amused by the video and replied favourably to the tweet.
