This complete disconnect is astounding, i.e., 98% of Americans don’t believe that the growing debt impairs our ability to function as a nation. The “one-percenters” aren’t the problem; it’s the “98-percenters,” who want the federal government to fund Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security and service the national debt and offer student loan forgiveness, et cetera, by continuing to borrow in excess of $1 trillion each year .
