Gregory Dolbashian and the DASH Ensemble have become formidable players on the Dallas dance scene.

Gregory Dolbashian's DASH Ensemble in a publicity photo for "The Power of Collision," which the choreographer's company performed as part of the Elevator Project in 2023.At the time he was choreographing for the Bruce Wood troupe, Dolbashian had recently launched the DASH Academy, now located in Plano, for young dance students. He settled in nearby Richardson.

After attending the Cathedral School of St. John the Devine through eighth grade, he wound up at Trinity, the prestigious New York prep school. He had been accepted to LaGuardia, but his father suggested that Trinity was a rare opportunity. That summer at the Perry-Mansfield art camp in Steamboat Springs, Colo., he was cast in a dance piece and found himself at the barre for the first time. He realized he had a lot of catching up to do.
