Fresh Market closing US 280 location as it plans to open new stores

It's one of two closing in the U.S., according to the company.

The North Carolina-based chain announced it has decided to close the 280 store, as well as one in Valrico, Fla. as the store leases are near an end.

“As we continue to position The Fresh Market for growth, we regularly review our portfolio and after a detailed organizational analysis we made the decision to close locations,” the company announced. “We are committed to supporting our affected team members by facilitating transfers to nearby The Fresh Market locations and for those unable to transfer, we will provide severance packages to ease their transition.”Fresh Market currently has six Alabama locations, including one in Homewood.UAW President Shawn Fain may have demanded benefits for partner, court filing claimsIf you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.
