The Economic Freedom Fighters ’s Central Command Team will be meeting regions in KwaZulu-Natal at the weekend, in a bid to establish what led to the party’s massive loss in support in the general elections on the 29th of May.
The party’s support dropped from 10 to two percent in the province, which gave them only two seats from a previous eight in the provincial legislature. Before the elections, the EFF said it wanted to focus on growing its support in the province. “We want to engage and listen to our structures. That’s the purpose of the work that we’re coming here to do. So, all members of the Central Command Team are deployed all over the province, led by the officials, to come and listen to our own members on what could have gone wrong. What they want to propose what were the challenges, what were the issues. So, that we confront those challenges and try to provide solutions and a way forward,” says EFF Secretary-General Marshall Dlamini.
