The prime minister announced that he would remove EU rules preventing the government from awarding contracts to UK-based businesses.

Boris Johnson announces the UK will scrap state aid rules to prevent businesses from collapsing after Brexit. The government is currently forbidden from intervening to prop up uncompetitive UK-based companies. The proposal comes as Johnson insists he will negotiate a new trade deal with the EU by the end of 2020, or leave without a deal. Failure to secure a deal would leave the UK trading on World Trade Organisation terms with its closest trading partners.

He does not have the power to do so and, as such, is effectively declaring that he is going to implement a No Deal Brexit as the EU will not accept such an amendment to the Withdrawal Agreement. It is further evidence of the CON which BOJO is trying. He's KILLING the ECONOMY.

I thought brexit was going to be great for British business... It's almost like they've been lying to us hhhmmm 🤔
