A multi-national company has publicly stated wine grape growers can expect to get less for their crop this coming vintage season.

Hail, heat, high water prices and now, Australia's largest wine grape growing region has been dealt another tough hand in the lead up to the 2020 vintage season.A statement released by a wine processor this week suggested grape growers should expect lower prices for their next cropThe grower representative says they may need to go to seek a market price from a third party

Accolade Wines had attempted to floor grape crop prices at a time when producers needed the most help they could get.

Grapes are a commodity. Would this be a good time to mention that in commodities markets the only market structures that have any chance of giving some protection to producers are: Co-operatives (producer owned & managed processing & marketing).
