Newly crowned Musangwe champion might be challenged on Thursday via SABCNewsOnline

The month-long traditional bare-knuckle fist tournament is traditionally held at Tshifudi cattle dip outside Thohoyandou.

President of the traditional bare-knuckle fist fight, known as Musangwe in Limpopo, Tshilidzi “Poison” Ndevane says the newly crowned champion Khodani ‘Cena’ Nephalama might be challenged when the annual tournament continues on Thursday. Nephalama, a professional boxer, has defeated Thuso ‘Ngwazi’ Munyai last week to be crowned Musangwe champion.

The month-long traditional bare-knuckle fist tournament is traditionally held at Tshifudi cattle dip outside Thohoyandou. Ndevane explains, “We are entering the day seven of Musangwe this year. As we were playing … we were trying to put Musangwe at the peak, [and] we crowned up Nephalama Cena as our ‘Ngwena’ person. Today we [are] expecting everybody to come and challenge him.”
