Former prime minister Najib Razak says the then second finance minister Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah should have come up with a ‘proper’ plan to take back RM3.6 billion of SRC International funds frozen by the Swiss government. FMTNews NajibRazak

Najib Razak says Husni Hanadzlah, the then second finance minister did not make any formal request to him to bring back SRC International’s RM3.6 billion.

In testifying in his SRC International trial, Najib said Husni, the then second finance minister, did not make any formal request to him to bring back SRC International’s RM3.6 billion. Husni had told the court previously that he had met Najib to get his consent to fly to Switzerland in an attempt to resolve the issue of frozen funds, believed to be from SRC International. He added that Najib had rejected his request.

The former finance minister replied that he had not been informed about the company’s situation by the board of directors.
