In a break with other tech companies, Facebook Inc. said it wouldn’t limit how political ads are targeted to potential voters, but would instead give users tools to see fewer of those ads on its platforms.
The move by Facebook, which says a private company shouldn’t decide how campaigns are able to reach potential voters, is at odds with how other tech firms are approaching political ads leading up to the 2020 election.
I don’t know if I agree with this as there shouldn’t just be a disbarred ad revenue stream regarding politics. This may just bring more fake information that people make up instead of ads that political campaigns are responsible for. Not all people watch the news or care sadly.

Micro-Targeting, based upon user-data should be declared illegal by the FCC and FTC. It is the equivalent to Subliminal Advertising in a video stream. Congress needs to ACT UPON THIS!
Facebook should not be a willing pawn in allowing foregn intervention in our elections. (Nor the spread of false domestic narratives from any politician, supporter or party).

How many voters are actually so stupid that they can be persuaded by any crock of s*** offered up by a politician? Everyone I know personally is skeptical, as we all should be.
It is time to break up FB. It picks and chooses what it will not allow and what is a free for all. Guessing it disallows human trafficking, violence, violence against children, Nazism, etc., and if it does then why not manage political postings that may mislead voters from truth.
So they’ve strived to replace old media like newspapers, but simply can’t manage to exercise the same standards because $$$. Got it.
