The government says it’s not necessary to place any restrictions on religious gatherings in the wake of the coronavirus in the country.

ZCC members are expected to converge on the church's headquarters in Moria for the annual Easter Conference.

“We were meeting up with the ZCC. We are going to continue to meet other churches on Thursday. Next, we are meeting South African Council of Churches with all the churches that they can find. We are going to discuss the issue. Now, the challenge here is that if you want to prevent infection, the simplest thing is listen, cancel Good Friday, cancel, this cancel that. One, it’s not as easy as that. You also can’t make restrictions unilaterally. We don’t run the churches.

The decree by Cardinal Angelo De Donatis, Pope Francis’ vicar for the Rome archdiocese, will remain in effect until at least April 3. There are more than 900 parochial and historic churches in the Italian capital.

So why zcc picture ?

The Government wants to get rid of some numbers.

Is the particular picture necessary though 😂

Are there any measures out in place?

I wonder who trusts this government?

🤣🤣🤣🤣The government wants to us all.

Going through comments and I’m stunned how angry people are with the government over nothing, do you people really think Coronavirus is gonna stop us from going to Moria? Really?

Let's wait for the stats after Good Friday.

Out of pictures you chose this leave us in peace

GovernmentZA so what part of reducing huge gatherings dont you understand?talk about being clueless

Really I don't understand but most of the countries closing schools , gatherings etc

thabang350 Does the government really have any jurisdiction in church gatherings, whilst opening the borders for anyone carrying the CoronavirusPandemic to enter freely? CoronaVirusUpdate

The government is deliberate about wanting to kill people...

Wait, what? Religion will kill us all. So other countries have stopped gathering of even 50 or more people but you're about let hundreds of thousands or millions (I don't know the numbers) go to Moria?

On that note, what's taking Mboro, Bushiri, TB Joshua... So long to consult with God for water to cure Corona?

Who's driving this putco bus Mara

CapricornFM onthegobreakfast ANCYL Peter mokaba region are worried about Quarantined people but they not bothered by Travelling pilgrims coming to Moria next week. The Risk of Polokwane and Mankweng increases even higher bcos you never who come in infected or not

No, I don't agree. Churches are mass gatherings. It's risky

They want to reduce the rate of unemployment by reducing the rate of living

Indeed is the end of the world

Not necessary!? Gov Ke joke

It's official, they want us dead 🚶

Wtf is wrong with African gvts

This govt is not serious about prevention..Oh I forgot ANC is always reactive..they must first see more infected & deaths then run around like headless chickens..they all think & do the same..

WHO declared this a pandemic precisely due to dumb govts that have been slow to deal with this threat. Proactive gvts like Uganda have taken evasive measures to block it with travel bans etc. Mzansi is waiting for 4 000 deaths b4 govt starts to panic. Fok we are soo doomed 🤕🤕

With 17 confirmed cases already, don’t be the the “Italy” of Africa please . Thank you Concerned African

I know this has nothing to do with this but here is another proof that sjava never did ish to lady zamar. Ckick here: LimpopoIsNotADumpingSite

Don't forget about malls, funfairs and tourist joints HealthZA DIRCO_ZA

Of course not, at least a 183 people have to die first like with the listeriosis outbreak before they say 'hold on, we are losing too many voters now'.

Mabena i see Coronavirus passing Indian Ocean

The opposite of everything our Government tells us to do, is right! Tomorrow, they'll be telling us to hold hands & sing Kumbaya! EVERYTHING!! 🤔

Then what is necessary ?GovernmentZA

So that it can spread fast amongst the dark skin ones, since they are only ones who does big gatherings in Easter? This SAgovnews GovernmentZA is drunk man and irresponsible.

“Prevention is better than a cure”, this is what I grew up knowing, now things have changed to “a cure is better than a preventions” where did we go wrong as a country of “ABC- abstain..! all preventative measures should be invoked in order to function effectively CoronaVirusSA

Winter is coming Winter is coming virus in the air will strike soon

This government take us for nothing.

Remember some cabinet ministers & MPs are regulars at miracle pastor churches akere. So bo my spiritual father will curse them if they tried absence in these vukengceni churches. ,

We’re so doomed...!!

That's not true, public participation & freedom of association should be restricted, in gyms, public transport, Many kinds of Educational gathering, work Places, bars & tarvens hotels, airports, hospitals with everyone to be carefully attended to/ quarantined.

Surely they haven’t heard or read how covisto is transmitted 🦠

I offered to shake someone's hand at church on Saturday but he instead offered me a sanitizer. I thought that would be followed by a handshake. Kuphi? Dololo.

Restrictions would spell hunger for me and my family, I need my congregants for my paycheck

This government is useless

That govt, whichever it is, is moronic.

Our government is a joke!!!
