TAOS, N.M. - The Native American gaming industry on Tuesday requested $18 billion in U.S. federal aid as it shut casinos that are the sole source of commercial revenue for dozens of tribes in a bid to slow the coronavirus epidemic.
“Providing the means for tribal governments to continue paying all employees’ salaries and benefits will immensely help this country recover,” according to the letter addressed to Representatives Deb Haaland and Tom Cole of the House Native American Caucus. That means shutting American Indian casinos which employ a combined 700,000-plus people directly and indirectly and generated over $37 billion in 2017, making them the largest segment of the U.S. gaming industry, according to the association.
Absolutely not
No
If they don’t pay a fair tax-NO if they don’t report revenue-NO if they don’t pay state minimum wage -NO if they neglect their own people to get a bigger paycheck-NO if the can’t be sued -NO if they answer to no one -NO this must be a joke- take care of the people who work there
PSA: If you read the article, it isn’t as bad as the tweet / headline suggests. The casinos are apparently taking the lead on requesting funds to support tribal social services in light of the tribes’ loss of casino revenue to support those services.
They prey on gambling addiction and hopefully they get no bailout and they all fold.
Let's see. If I didn't have to pay taxes, I wouldn't expect relief. You know that these casinos have Billions stashed in a mountain vault. Heck most of the executives aren't even Native America, just greedy opportunist.
18 billion? It's ironic how billionaires walk around no problem, but when situations get funky and people need billions, we'll have to spend more in a few.months than any billionaire would ever spend in their lifetime, how these types escape paying taxes escapes me
All the money they make and they dont have a pot to piss in. When shareholders come 1st, 2nd and 3rd any spare change is scooped up. Everyone is a socialist all of a sudden.

No!!
Quite a few still open in Oklahoma which seems ridiculous
Lolololol... no.
You made your bet, for better or worse. I wish you well.
American Indians can be helped, but bailing out casinos in these troubled times is insane
I have the same feelings for them going broke that they do when the people gambling at the casinos go broke. Try 1-800-GAMBLER
FUCK NO...THEY ROB US EVERYTIME...THEY ARENT MONITORED LIKE VEGAS CASINOS...THEY DO WHAT THEY WANT WITH THEIR MACHINES...CHEATING AND NOT PAY THE FULL WIN ALLL THE TIME...
No
No!
Who really cares if casino owners are losing their financial asses? Where is the demand for these stories? Casinos are not a necessity for national security, like the airline industry. How casino-bailouts became an apples to apples argument with airlines-bailouts is baffling.
hell no! that's why it's called gambling. this time the house lost, pay-up sucka!
Thats a hard no
Put up $18 billion all on black.
casinos are evil.
Will that be to help employees or to pocket lost profits? 🧐
The amount of money they generate, no way they should be getting a bailout. Tell the. To forgo the high level salaries for a few months
I wonder why. How did the Indians end up in reservations?
That's funny. The biggest trading partner of Nevada is Switzerland...
No! What the hell gaming is not a necessity! No bailout for cash rich casinos.
No wayyyyyyy
I don't care if the casino is run by blind deaf nuns in wheelchairs, I ain't signing on for a casino bailout.
I've already donated several times several times. 🤔
Casinos always win and now they want handouts from a former casino owner? lol lol good luck!!!!
No bailouts
Sounds like free money
What kind of crazy world we live in. What else do we need to pay with our tax dollars.
Don’t bailout industry, bailout people! BailOutThePeople coronavirus COVID19 SocialDistancing
casino aid...
Pocahontas (SenWarren) is behind that obnoxious request, isn't she?
Might be the only time the house loses!
they’ve taken enough of peoples’ money already
You will get nothing and you will like it.
This is a bit of a moral quandary, on one hand the Native Americans have it really rough, on the other hand casinos are super evil. I would say let the casinos go under and work on a better solution to poverty on reservations.
