PETALING JAYA: Transport and freight services of manufacturers producing essential goods have been exempted from restrictions under the Movement Control Order, the international trade ministry has announced.
However, manufacturers who use private or individual logistics or transport services must seek approval from the ministry. The ministry said in a statement that approval to operate had been extended to logistics and transport service providers of manufacturers producing essential goods The extension was necessary to ensure that essential goods reached consumers in a timely manner, the ministry said. “Logistics and transport service providers are no longer required to submit a separate request for approval in order to continue their operations during the MCO period,” it said.
Only essential goods produced by the manufacturing companies can be transported. The service providers must also operate with the minimum number of workers possible.
