Ecuadorean President Lenin Moreno announced on Friday the creation of a humanitarian assistance account that will be funded with contributions from companies and citizens to address the economic effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

The government has said deaths could reach 3,500 due to the outbreak in the province of Guayas, where the epicenter of the country’s outbreak is located, which accounts for 70% of infections. “So those who earn less, pay less and those who earn more, pay more. With their contribution, we will be able to protect almost two million poor families in Ecuador,” Moreno explained, indicating that the resources will be managed outside the government.

Trump announces bailout measure for airline industryPresident Trump announced a preliminary bailout package for the airline industry, hit heavily by COVID-19. The president said more details would be available over the weekend. More money for airlines , meanwhile Americans still waiting on a stimulus check 🤦‍♂️ Because airlines can’t pay their rent, feed their children, or even get through to sign up for unemployment because they lost their job. NO!! Not a dollar of my money is to go to airlines, those thiefs. Another airline will come along so let’s not fall for that fear mongering like we did with the crisis of 2008.
